Dear Etrain

Dear Etrain,

This was actually a really fun Halloween. Due to the pandemic, we weren't sure what Halloween would look like this year, but one thing was for sure...you kids wanted to celebrate. As I mentioned in an earlier post, we got your costume early and are were wearing it all the time.

Dear Etrain,

This was a bizarre summer for sure. The pandemic kept us home. With an awesome new backyard to play in (and no more dirt outside!!!) we had plenty to be thankful for, but we still went a tad stir crazy. I'll keep saying it, but our neighbors really saved us. That and our beautiful California weather that kept us able to go outside, while the rest to the country was gearing up for fall weather.

Dear Etrain,

These last three months were filled with lots of fun. Many, many highs, and a few lows. We did make sure we took full advantage of these warm summer months. June ended with a bonfire, a visit from Grammy, your first visit time in a movie theater, and plenty of play time with friends.

Dear Etrain,

My friend Brandi lives in San Jose and was having a house warming and baby shower. I wanted to go so I thought it'd be a fun for a family vacation. And since we would be so far north, we could go a little farther and visit Grammy at her house.

Dear Etrain,

Four and a half! Wow how time flies. We had some pretty big things happen these last few months, including two pretty awesome vacations. But we'll get to that. For now let's start with some photos of you being a cute little helper. You wanted to do the floors, and who am I to stop you.

Dear Etrain,

We went to Costa Rica! I have to say, this was one of my favorite vacations with you. We were gone for nine days, which was probably the longest we've been away in a while. You were healthy (unlike in Kauai), and therefore in a good mood and always ready to go do something fun. We made some friends while we were there, had some adventures, ate great meals, and had plenty of time to relax.

Dear Etrain,

You may have noticed we've skipped a few months on this blog. These days you are much more on the move so I have less time to put this together, and you are just harder to get a photo of. When you were a baby you would just lay there for me, then you got older, but still didn't move as fast as you do now. And if I'm being totally honest, there just aren't as many unique or cute photo moments. We do a lot of the same thing each day, and it just doesn't always warrant a photo each time. That said, I still love capturing fun moments of your childhood and looking back at this blog. I hope one day you feel the same.

Dear Etrain,

Today is Dada and my seven year anniversary. We've actually been together for ten years as of today! Our first date was on March 7th, 2009 and we got married on the same day in 2012. I was going through old pictures and found some of vacations we went on before we got married. I thought it might be fun for you to see a little bit about where we have been...and what we looked like back then! There were plenty of trips after we got married too, but this post would probably go on forever. Maybe I'll cover that another time. For now, let's start with our first vacation ever.

Dear Etrain,

I have to say, we had a pretty fun Christmas season! We started early, stayed (mostly) healthy and were therefore able to do a lot of exciting things.

Dear Etrain,

Four! You're such a big boy now. And as you can see from the photo above, you're a super silly boy as well. We just love you to pieces and are so proud of the little person you are growing up to be. Let's see how the last month of three years old went down...

Dear Etrain,

Oh how you were waiting for this day. Well, these two days. For months you had been asking when it was your birthday, when you were going to be older...when you were going to get presents. W\For months we've been compiling a list of things you wanted for your birthday. For maybe half a year or longer you said you wanted a bounce house at your birthday party. You have been so excited and we did our best to make it the best.

Dear Etrain,

It felt like the odds were against me this year for family photos. We set a date with Auntie Ansley , but then you got sick. Finding another date was tough as it was getting closer to Christmas, but Ansley had one weekend morning available so we took it. But about a week earlier it was forecasted to rain that day. The day for our photo shoot came, and we lucked out. No rain!
